follow us on our antipodean trip

When we have had enough of Australia, or they have had enough of us we will take a short (3 hour) flight to the south Island of New Zealand.
Christchurch will be our first stop with a trip on the Transpenine train to take in lots of snowy scenery. After that we spend the best part of 10 days traveling round the south island ending up getting a ferry from Picton to Wellington.
From Wellington, where Kirsty will join us for the next part of our trip, we will explore the north island visiting Hobiton on the way and we will meet up with Wilma's cousin and his family for some quality time.
We will be starting out in Australia.
We aren't doing the whole country, just a visit to Melbourne and Sydney with a road trip between the two.

We will be taking in a couple of cricket matches in Melbourne and lots of sight seeing.

After Melbourne we are doing a road trip along the coast up to Sydney. That's about 1200 kilometers and would be 15 hours if we don't stop. we plan to do it over a few days taking in the scenery and culture of that part of Australia.

We will finish off with a few days in Sydney doing tourist things.

After New Zealand we are making a stop for a few days in Singapore. We stopped here when we last visited new Zealand 16 years ago. There will be plenty of things that have changed since we were here. Wilma wants to see the solar powered trees, and I want to get my glass for having a Singapore sling at Raffles.
