We started off by getting up nice and early for our trip along the M8 to Edinburgh Airport. Our flight was due to go out at 7:30, so we had to be there 3 hours before departure, so you can guess how early we had to be up.
Our flight was with Qatar Airways to Qatar and was quite good. Plenty of food on board with lots of soft drinks included.

The flight was 6 and a half hours, flying over Europe. We went over Scotland, England, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Syria, Iran UAE and Qatar.
I watched the Haunted Mansion (new version) and listened to The Eagles and Billy Joel. Wilma watched the Blue Beetle.
When we arrived in Qatar we were bussed from the plane to the terminal building which took about 10 minutes.
It was probably the busiest Airport we had ever been in, but after something to eat we had a bit of an explore. Along with the usual perfume and drinks shops there were loads of high end boutique style outlets. Including Lois Vuitton, Tiffany's, Tag Heuer and Porsche.

We had been told of a garden inside the terminal which we found halfway down the C gates.

After just 3 hours in the Airport we were on our way to Melbourne. We started taxiing out to the runway which seemed to take ages. It seemed that long that I thought we were driving all the way to Melbourne.
We finally got underway on an epic 13 hour flight. after the last one it started to take its toll. We both watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol3, but the rest of the flight was a bit of a blur, with cat naps fore a good few hours.
We had left Qatar at about 5:30 pm GMT, and after crossing southern India and Sri Lanka we crossed the Equator 6 hours later at 11:30 pm GMT and we still had 7 hours to go. We hit land fall 3 hours later, but still had a long time to go.
After landing at 6:30 local time it still took over an hour to get through customs and collect our bags, we got a taxi for a 20 minute ride to our hotel, and once checked in hit the hay.
After all the travelling it took about 30 hours from getting up on Wednesday morning to going to bed at 10 o'clock local time on Thursday night, No wonder we are knackard.
