Cairns (Blog 8)

After our road trip, we spent 2 and a half days in Cairns.

When we arrived we checked in and then had to return the car to Avis at Cairns airport. After that the night was our own. Wilma found an Irish bar on the internet and we made our way there. It was just a bar so we had a drink then want in search of somewhere to eat.

Just down the road was another Irish themed pub that did food. We had a great meal.

After that we had a nice evening walk around Cairns, and found the night market.

The next day, we went on one of the two pre booked trips.

Today we went to Kuranda. It involved a gondola ride of 45 minutes and 7.5km.

We were supposed to have a train ride at the top, but the train was off due to the yearly upgrade.

The village of Kuandra was very nice, with lots of artisan shops and a couple of wildlife sanctuarys. We spent a couple of hours there. and we had our photos taken with another Koala.

The next day we had a flight over the barrier reef booked. It went well until take off. after a couple of minutes Wilma wasnt well and was sick over her phone. (not been working since)

After a couple of hours sleep for Wilma we went for a walk to the local shopping center then back to the hotel for an early night as we had two flights to catch the next day and had to be at the airport for four in the morning.
