This is how it started (Blog 1)

It all started when I received an email from Trailfinders.

A round the world trip using business class on airplanes.

Starting in London, to Singapore, New Zealand, Vancouver and then back to London.

It was a month-long trip that sounded interesting, but the price was a bit on the high side.

I phoned up to make a couple of enquiries.

1                    Can we swap out Singapore for Hong Kong

2                    Can it be done economy instead of business class?

The lady at trailfinders did her thing and came back with a price, and some more details.

The New Zealand part of the trip was a motorhome, (which we knew) and because we wanted to go economy the flights would change slightly. We didn’t mind that because we didn’t know the original flights anyway.  The flight from Aukland to Vancouver would have to ‘bounce’ in Fiji.

We discussed this and after looking at the south island of New Zealand’s temperatures for the time of year we were looking at going, 2 degrees in a campervan in Queenstown wasn’t that appealing.

As for a bounce in Fiji, that sounded better if we could stay a couple of days there as a relax stop in the middle of our RTW trip.

We went into Trailfinders in Glasgow with a revised trip.

1        Hong Kong instead of Singapore

2        Brisbane (Warmer than Queenstown) with a

3        road trip to Cairns

4        Fly back to Brisbane

5        Fly to Fiji for 3 days

6        Off to Vancouver crossing the international date line and gaining a day

7        Motorhome rental in Canada with lots to see there

8        Back to Heathrow and a connection to Glasgow

I hope we are going to enjoy this trip.

The trip is 30 days, and we have been married

30 years in 2026 so it seems a great way to celebrate.
